What is ESTA? How does it affect my travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program?
The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is an automated system for screening passengers before they travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Since January 12, 2009, the system is mandatory for all travelers entering the U.S. by air or by sea under the Visa Waiver Program.
