The Fourth of July: Celebrating U.S. Independence
Members of the East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Kentish Guards perform during the Bristol, RI, Independence Day parade. It is the oldest 4th of July parade in the country, and these fife players are wearing period costumes that recall Rhode Island’s status as one of the original 13 states of the Revolutionary war era.

James Ensor retrospective at New York's MoMA
June 28–September 21, 2009. This exhibition presents approximately 120 works, examining Ensor's contribution to modernity, his innovative and allegorical use of light, his prominent use of satire, his deep interest in carnival and performance, and his own self-fashioning and use of masking, travesty, and role-playing.

Borlée Brothers Study in U.S.,break records
Jonathan and Kevin Borlée, 21-year-old twin sprinters who represented Belgium in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, continue to hone their skills as freshmen at Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee. Recruited by FSU in fall 2008, the two began studies at the university in Florida’s state capital in January.
