“Father Damian was an explorer, an ambassador, a healer, a righteous man, a hero, a saint, and a teacher for us and our children. He is and was for President Barack Obama a great source of inspiration” said Ambassador Gutman at the unveiling of the Father Damian statue in Tremelo on Oct 4, 2009.
