Passport Photo Requirements

To apply for a United States passport, you must submit two identical U.S.-size photos (5 cm by 5 cm or 2" by 2"). Attention: for technical reasons no self-printed passport pictures can be accepted by the consulate! The passport photographs you want to submit should comply with following guidelines:

• Two identical unsigned photographs taken within the last six months.
• 2x2 inch.(5x5 cm) square, with the image measured from chin to forehead not less than 1" or more than 1-3/8".
• Photos should not be cut.
• Non-glossy, non-plastic base paper with a white background. The back must not be waxy or have a coating that lessens adhesive.
• Color photos only will be taken in consideration; not tinted, with a light background.
